I’ve been scared to travel out of Nigeria – Singer Omah Lay speaks after his arrest in Uganda
Stanley Omah Didia, also known as Omah Lay, a Nigerian singer, has spoken out about his arrest in Uganda in 2020.
It may be recalled that he and Tems were invited to perform in Uganda in December 2020, but they were arrested after their performance for violating COVID-19 restrictions.
During an interview with Pulse One on One, the singer described how officers arrested him from his hotel room.
He explained that the security guards politely asked him to follow them and answer some questions, but before he knew what was going on, he was in court.
Omah Lay stated that his trip to Uganda was his first international trip, and the entire situation terrified him, as he has been afraid to fly out of Nigeria ever since.
