“Soldiers Can Shoot And Kill Any Man In Southeastern Nigeria, And Claim He Was An Unknown Gunman” – Reno Omokri

Nigerian human right activist and lawyer, Reno Omokri has called out the Nigerian government, over soldiers killing innocent citizens in the Southeastern region.

Omokri is the founder of the Free Leah Sharibu movement, which is a media campaign advocating for the freedom of Leah Sharibu, a Christian girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram, offering to release her if she would convert to Islam, but she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

Reno Omokri also successfully supported a campaign to unfollow Nigeria’s president, Muhammad Buhari on Twitter, ledding to a 100,000 drop in the Nigerian President’s Twitter following in just 3 hours

Reno has made a post on his Instagram page, stating that Living in Nigeria’s Southeast is now more dangerous than living in Afghanistan

According to Reno, soldiers can shoot and kill any man in Southeastern Nigeria, and claim he was an Unknown Gunman, adding that a soldier with a gun can get rid of any man whose face he does not like, and claim that the fellow was ESN/IPOB/UGM member

He wrote;

“The way things stand now, soldiers can shoot and kill ANY man in Southeastern Nigeria, and claim he was an Unknown Gunman. There are no investigations carried out on the veracity of these claims. No accountability. A soldier with a grudge can get rid of any man whose face he does not like, and claim that the fellow was ESN/IPOB/UGM and he gets away with murder. Living in Nigeria’s Southeast is now more dangerous than living in Afghanistan”
