Why Davido turned down Sanwo-Olu’s invitation to a concert
Rinu Oduala, a Nigerian activist, has disclosed how famous artist Davido turned down a concert hosted by the Lagos state government.
Rinu, who was a frontline #EndSARS protester, wrote on her verified Twitter profile that Davido was invited to a performance by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which he accepted but then declined after learning who the organizers were.
She wrote;
”I remember Lagos State Govt organized a concert few days ago & covertly invited many celebrities.
The moment Davido found out they were one of the sponsors, he canceled! #WeWillNeverForget”

She also responded to music producer Samklef’s tweet, in which he accused celebrities of profiting from the #EndSARS movement.
He chastised celebrities who attended a recent event hosted by the Lagos State Government. Samklef labeled his colleagues as activists by day and friends of the government by night, implying that they are all exploiting the movement for their own gain.
Reacting, Rinu wrote; ”Davido never did the show. He canceled when he found out Lagos State Govt was one of the sponsors. Talk about celebrities that stay true to their words >>>>”
