Former Nigerian professional footballer, Jay Jay Okocha has reacted to Lionel Messi’s weekly take-home of £1 million at France giants, PSG.

Following reports that Argentine professional footballer, Lionel Messi will take home of £1 million (about N571million) every week at Paris St-Germain, Super Eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha has reacted hilariously.

Jay Jay in an interview with The Guardian, said that if he was offered the same amount during his playing days, he wouldn’t have ended his career. He also said that his footballing days came too early.

“I came too early and Messi came at the right time. If I was paid such amount of money in my playing days, maybe I would have stayed back in France forever.

“I wouldn’t have thought of coming to Nigeria.”

Jay jay has played for various clubs across the world including Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahçe, PSG, Qatar, Bolton Wanderers, and Hull City. He is widely regarded as one of the best African players of all time.
