‘I Will Still Drop Hits’ – Cheque Reacts As Headies Snub Him Again

The full list of nominees for the 15th Annual Headies Awards, which will be hosted on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia, was revealed by the organizers on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Portable, Magixx, Ugoccie, Fave, Oxlade, Ayra Starr, Ruger, Fireboy DML, and more rave recording acts received nominations in several categories on the 2022 nomination list.

Cheque, a popular Nigerian performer, was left off the list of nominees. The ‘Zoom’ hitmaker has resorted to social media to criticize the Headies organizers for failing to recognize his efforts.

According to him, Nigerian hip hop has stagnated due to a lack of recognition.

“Another year and the HEAdIES fails to recognize my music in the Rap category, while melodic rappers like Durk and Roddy are idolized in the rap scene worldwide That’s why HiPhop has remained Stagnant HERE but It’s Calm I will still be dropping HiTs even if I don’t get my Flowers”, he tweeted.
