Deyemi Okanlawon, a Nollywood actor, has explained how his involvement in the Netflix smash series Blood Sisters damaged his mental health.

Biological Sisters depicts the story of two friends, Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime), who are not blood sisters.

Sarah, an ordinary Igbo girl, is due to marry Kola Ademola, the affluent heir to the Ademola throne (Deyemi Okanlawon). Some consider the couple to be a match made in heaven.

In actuality, this ideal marriage is more of a nightmare. Kola Ademola turned out to be a tyrant and an abusive lover. He has a propensity of brutally knacking ladies.

Speaking about his suffering months after playing an abusive boyfriend in Blood Sisters, Deyemi Okanlawon admitted that ‘Kola Ademola’ affected him more than he cares to confess and that it took months for him to regain any kind of normalcy.

According to him, he caught himself breaking his own rules.

In his words;

Kola Ademola definitely affected me more than I care to admit and it took months to get to a semblance of normalcy. Strangely while I still firmly believe aggression should be met with justice, I now empathize with ppl who carry such demons #BloodSisters #BloodSistersNetflix”
