Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show has come under heavy criticisms yet again from another Nigerian cleric. The man of God identified as Ven. Ifeanyi Akunna of the Vicar of Anglican Church of the Epiphany, Abuja, urged the Nigerian government to scrap the ongoing reality show and other similar programmes that are airing in the country.

According to The Nation, Akunna made the call for the end of the show in a message entitled A House Built on Faulty Foundation, during a session with newsmen on Thursday, August 27, in Abuja.

Explaining the reason for his position, the spiritual leader said programmes like BBNaija only promote immorality among Nigerian youths and also destroy the moral foundations that youths should build upon.

The cleric said shows like BBNaija do not add anything tangible to the moral value of youths in the country.
He said:

These things contribute to the faulty foundations upon which people build their lives and future. Any foundation that is not built on Jesus Christ must surely collapse — as only Jesus is the sure anchor of our lives and souls.

Similarly, the cleric also tasked the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to scrap the programme and censor programmes that do not teach moral values.
