Burna Boy Set To Perform At The 2021 Grammys Premiere Ceremony

Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy will perform at the 2021 Grammy pre-show which will be live-streamed on GRAMMY.com on March 14, Pitchfork reports. 

Burna boy the self-proclaimed African Giant is selected in the Best Global Music category of the 63rd prestigious award show.

Other nominees in the Best Global Music Category include Brazilian-American Bebel Gilberto, Tuareg desert rock group Tinariwen, NYC afrobeat outfit Antibalas, and British-Indian sitar player Anoushka Shankar.

Talented singer, Jhené Aiko is hosting, and other artistes performing include Lido Pimienta, Poppy, Rufus Wainwright among others.

The 2021 Grammy Awards was scheduled to take place in January before it was postponed to March due to the “deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles.”

The prestigious event which was set to take place on Sunday, January 31, will now hold on Sunday, March 14, approximately a month and a half later.

On Tuesday, January 5, the Recording Academy said the rescheduling came about “after thoughtful conversations with health experts, the host and artistes” set to perform at the event.
