“David would never do this!”-  Uche Ogbodo comes down hard on Wizkid after his statement about Nigeria Rappers

Wizkid, a popular musician, has come under fire from actress Uche Ogbodo for his remarks on Nigeria rap music.

Wizkid recently stated that the rap form of music is no longer relevant in an interview with 10 magazine, declaring the Afrobeat genre to be the new pop.

Rappers from Nigeria responded to Wizkid’s claim, including M.I. Abaga and Blaqbonez.

But on Friday, Wizkid asserted in a Snapchat message that rappers are poor and stupid. The only rappers in Africa, he continued, are Sakordie, Black Sherif, and Nasty C from Ghana and South Africa.

A furious Uche criticized Wizkid for his statement in response to it on Instagram on Saturday, noting that his colleague Davido would never disparage Nigerian musicians.

She wrote:

“Wizid was wrong! Too wrong! How could you say such about your people! Who do us this thing sef? Which Babalawo Mix this Juju wey say Nigerians must hate fellow Nigerians! No Loyalty to your People! To your Country! Only Selfishness everywhere! Abeg make all of them getat! This is not nice! All Nigerian Rappers y’all are the biggest and the Greatest Abeg!

“David would never do this! Lai Lai. Weda nah Nigerian rappers he ment or American Rappers! He should never have opened those cans of Worms.”
