“Even Though I Am Poor, I Gave The Prisoners Money Because I Have Freedom” – Hawker In Viral Video Narrates
A water hawker gave some money to the passengers on a Nigerian Correctional Service bus stuck in traffic in Lagos.
He was captured on video with his water crate on his head, passing cash to at least three bus passengers.
The act of childishness drew a lot of attention on the internet, landing the young man an interview with a journalist who questioned the reason for his action.
When asked why he did what he did, the young man stated that, despite his poverty, he had freedom, which the prisoners do not.
According to him:
“I gave the prisoners money out of pity, Though I am very poor and sell pure water, I still have my Freedom, I can eat whatever I want to eat and go anywhere I want to go, but the prisoners do not have that freedom,”.
