On Thursday, Nigerian youths gathered at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos State to commemorate the second anniversary of the #EndSARS protests and #LekkiMassacre.

Falz, the ace rapper, and Mr. Macaroni, the funny actor, joined the mourning march, which began about 9 a.m. on October 20, 2022.

Thousands of young Nigerians marched across major cities in Nigeria for two weeks during the EndSARS protests, which shocked the world in October 2020.

Youths demanded a stop to years of police violence, abuse, and extrajudicial executions.

Coffins were carried in the march on Thursday to honor the memory of the unarmed demonstrators who were shot and murdered by security forces on October 20, 2020, at the Lekki Tollgate while singing the national anthem and waving the Nigerian flag.

Online videos show public leaders and a large crowd walking through the streets of Lagos, despite considerable police presence.

Folarin Falana, better known as “Falz,” a musician, had already declared that he would be joining the walk to “remember fallen heroes from the #LekkiMassacre #EndSARS.”

Debo Adedayo, commonly known as Mr. Macaroni, an activist and comedian, announced that he would be taking part in the walk in memory of victims who had been brutalized by police.

“Peaceful walk tomorrow in honour of all #EndSars and police brutality victims. We no go fit ever forget!!!!” he tweeted.
