Featuring Wizkid On A Song Was More Important Than Drake – British Rapper Skepta
Skepta, a British-Nigerian rapper, recently declared that collaborating with Nigerian superstar Wizkid was more essential to him than collaborating with Canadian rapper Drake.
Big Smoke, as he is known, just released ‘All in,’ a five-track hip-hop effort that also featured Nigerian singer alte Teezee, American singer and producer Kid Kudi, and Colombian singer J.Balvin. Skepta claimed during an event celebrating the EP’s release that working with Wizkid on a song was more significant to him than working with Drake..
My first musical encounter with Drake was on a Wizkid single. That was more important to me than requesting Drake’s participation in one of my songs.
Remember that Skepta was instrumental in convincing Drake to feature on Wizkid’s blockbuster single “Ojuelege” in 2016, a move that solidified Wizkid’s introduction to the western world. According to Skepta, he has always known Wizkid is a superstar, which is why he has always supported him.
