I Reject This Kind Of Marriage – Rita Dominic Shares A Post About Women Being Undervalued In Marriage
Nigeria Actress, Rita Dominic, has tweeted a message criticizing the type of marriage in which women are treated as servants while their husbands relax for all of their friends.
The post Rita Dominic posted talks about how some men don’t bother to help their spouses with home duties because they believe house chores are only for women, despite the fact that they both work Monday through Friday.
According to a tweet shared by Rita Dominic, the husband is resting in the home while his wife is washing a pile of clothes outdoors in the sun before going to cook, and this happens every Saturday while they both work from Monday to Friday.
She goes on to say that she opposes this type of marriage for all of her female acquaintances since it looks that women are viewed as servants who are expected to do all of the housework without the help of their husbands, and the worst part is that the men will sit and watch them do it.
Many things have changed, and women’s roles are no longer limited to the kitchen or being housewives, but some men still believe that a woman’s place is still in the kitchen, regardless of how hardworking she is at her job, and these are the men Rita Dominic and others are rejecting for their female friends.
Some netizens who reacted to the post shared their own experiences of what they’ve gone through or seen others go through, and it appears that there are still men who regard women as property or maids, regardless of their level of education or exposure, which is very sad because women are not properties or maids to be forced to do every single job in the house without the help of their husbands.
Some defended the men’s actions, claiming that they work hard to pay for rent, bills, and other expenses, and that it is the wife’s responsibility to do housework. However, we can all agree that no matter how much money a man spends in the house, helping his wife with some basic housework will not kill him or take away his manhood.
