Taking to his Instagram page, the “Bambi” hit-maker urged other African countries to do likewise, not only with their cocoa, but also with other natural resources, such as cobalt, which is extremely useful for technology.

He also opposed to any form of neocolonialism, urging African leaders to take control of their natural resources and decide how they should be distributed and controlled on their own terms.

Sharing the video, he wrote;

“It’s a new era.

Ghana stopped exporting cocoa to Switzerland (yeah I know I said “cacao” in the video but u get the gist – and they stopped exporting cacao too). I’m hoping this is the turn of the tide for Black/ African nations to start refining our raw products. This is true Black ownership and Global Black Empowerment.”

Jidenna Theodore Mobisson was in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Tama Mobisson, an accountant, and Oliver Mobisson, a Nigerian Igbo academic. He grew up partially in Nigeria, where his father was working as a professor of computer science at Enugu State University.
