There have been several reports on social media of so many married women alledging that their male partners are in some sort of extra-marital gay relationships. Such reports are not new globally and have been gracing news headlines once in a while since the last two decades.

While a group of readers might blame the man for cheating, another group might also blame the woman for not being able to intensively study her spouse before marriage. However, popular Ghanaian TV star has weighed into the matter with an entirely different opinion.

The Ghanaian actress and movie producer has seemingly blamed the society (via the stigmatization of the LGBT community) for the cause of the “fake marriages” , which according to her usually ends up breaking apart within few months.

The actress made her opinion known via a comment on an Instagram post; as she primarily focused on the West African society (Nigeria included). Many Nigerian Women have been victims of such situations, as the country itself is famously known for its “14 years” anti-gay law.

In her opinion, she states that Gay people who face this stigma are emotionally and mentally conditioned/forced to get married to the opposite gender in a bid to cover up their orientation (to avoid any suspicion or further stigmatization). She went further to say that the gay men end up trying to be “bisexual” in order to have kids with the straight woman; while still maintaining a homosexual relationship with a “side piece” outside the matrimonial walls.
