According to social media reports, Hushpuppi has pleaded guilty and will likely serve 20 years in prison due to the seriousness of the act he committed.

 

Hushpuppi used to live an opulent lifestyle before being captured by Interpol; he was renowned for spending large sums of money in local and foreign currency, purchasing the latest exotic automobiles, acquiring costly pieces of jewelry, and traveling all over the world having fun.

His way of life inspired many people to admire him and aspire to be like him one day. Hushpuppi also met some of Nigeria’s most powerful politicians and celebrities.

When he began to cast aspersions on Nigerian musicians, several of them demanded that he divulge his source of wealth because of the way he mocked those who worked hard for their money.

ZUBBY MICHAEL

Actor Zubby Michael was suspicious of Hushpuppi’s excessive display of wealth and couldn’t help but wonder about his source of wealth. An Instagram user attempted to humiliate Zubby Micheal by comparing him to Hushpuppi just weeks before he was arrested in June 2020.

Zubby Micheal instantly responded to the user, telling him to grow up since he doesn’t believe in unexplained wealth and that no one understood Hushpuppi’s source of fortune.

 

Eniola Badmus

Eniola Badmus, a well-known Nollywood actress, also chimed in on the matter, reacting to Abbas’s questionable lifestyle, which included spending up to 11 million at a nightclub and sharing the bills slip on his social media page.

Hushpuppi’s extravagant spending irritated the actress, who contacted him on social media and demanded to know where and how he made his money. Hushpuppi mocked her and called her an attention seeking in response.

KCEE

Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, a popular Nigerian singer, was one of the artists that suspected Hushpuppi’s exorbitant spending and questioned him about it.

Hushpuppi ridiculed Nigerian musicians in 2017, alleging that they only used cheap materials and accessories.

In response to Hushpuppi’s comments, Kcee questioned him about his source of income and how he generated money given that he lacked skill, didn’t represent any brand, and didn’t come from a wealthy family as some musicians do. Kcee went on to ask the EFCC to focus its attention on him.
