Argentine professional footballer, Lionel Messi has revealed that the reason why he joined Paris Saint-Germain(PSG), is to win another UEFA Champions League.

The 34-year-old player revealed this during his press conference on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021.

While addressing newmen, messi said that PSG has been close to winning the Champions League in the past but with the latest signings at the club, he believes the Paris club should win the trophy.

He also promised to give in best in helping his new club win the competition.

In his words;

Well, I think the team is ready, and there are some new transfers. There have been very close to winning the Champions League already.

 

I have just come here to help. I will try to do my best with my inclusion. My goal is to win the trophy. And i think that PSG is the best place to win it again.

Despite being France’s most successful football club, Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) are yet to secure a UEFA Champions League trophy. They lost the UEFA Champions League 2019/20season final to Bayern Munich and also lost the 2021/21 semi-final to Manchester City.
