Basketmouth’s wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, has received mixed reactions following the comedian’s announcement of their divorce.
Today, December 22, 2022, famed Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, born Bright Okpocha, made headlines when he announced the termination of his 12-year marriage to his wife Elsie Uzoma, with whom he has three (3) children.
Basketmouth uploaded a message in which the comedian stated that after considerable discussion, he and his wife decided to break their marriage by mutual agreement.
“As much as it saddens me to bring my personal life into the public eye, this is an inescapable circumstance,” he remarked.
My wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after considerable discussion.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need. We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”
He added, “For the first time and the last time.”
Few hours after Basketmouth declared the end of their marriage, Elsie Uzoma, a realtor, released a video of herself marketing her painting business on her official Instagram profile, implying that she is unconcerned.
