Afro-pop king and singer, Wizkid or ‘Big Wiz’ has added two more awards to his collection after bagging two awards at the 2021 Net Honours event in two different categories.

Wizkid is referred to by many as a national treasure to all of Nigeria. This makes a lot of sense when you find out that with 65 awards from 223 nominations.

He is the most awarded African artist at the BET Awards (3), Soul Train Awards (2), Billboard Awards (3), iHeartRadio Music Awards (2) and MOBO Awards (4). He is also a recipient of an ‘ASCAP’ plaque for his songwriting contributions to Drake’s “One Dance”. Wizkid was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019. He is also the most awarded artiste in The Headies award history.

The “Made In Lagos” Hit-maker has added two more awards to his collection after he was named  ‘Most Popular Male Musician’ and also won the award for ‘Most Played Song’ both at the Net Honours 2021.

The organizers of the event officially took to their verified Instagram page to congratulate the singer.

They wrote;

“From Ojuelegba to the world!

First a Grammy, then
NET Honours for Most Popular Male Musician. Take a minute to say congratulations to @wizkidayo!”

“This song put the biggest ‘Smile’ on our faces when we first saw the video.

The NET Honours Class of 2021 award for ‘Most Played Song – R&B’ goes to @Wizkidayo and @hermusicofficial for “Smile”.”
