The official video for Omah Lay’s hit single “Understand” has surpassed 10 million views on video sharing platform,  YouTube, four weeks after it dropped.

This is not the first Omah Lay has hit the 10 million view mark on YouTube, as his 2020 hit single, ‘Godly’ has over 43 million views on the platform. However, ‘Understand’ is Omah’s first song to achieve this feat within a short period of time.

Produced by Tempoe, the audio and video for Understand were released in August. On “Understand,” Omah Lay finds himself in deep reflection about romance, wondering why his beloved seems less invested in their relationship than him.

The first verse of the song involves Omah Lay describing how much pain the mystery lady caused him. He vividly described how he sacrificed precious things for the lady, but she ended up ‘befriending his best friend’.

Speaking on the song, he said;

“It was a tough one to record and I hope the fans listen, understand and connect with it,”

“Most importantly, I hope she listens.”
