Popular Instagram comedian, Pankeeroy has been released from EFCC’s custody after being arrested over being involved in ‘Bitcoin scam’

Nwagbo Chidera Oliver professionally known as pankeeroy is a Nigerian born comedian, he is currently making wave in the Nigerian entertainment and internet scene. His estimated net worth in Naira in 2021 is ₦9.3 million Naira.

Recalling that, Pankeeroy was arrested on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, in Lekki, Lagos over alleged ‘Internet fraud’, being charged of allegedly being involved in ‘Bitcoin scam,’ an illicit act he said he started after falling into depression

Pankeeroy, has taken to his social media handle on popular social platform, Instagram took to release a press statement about his arrest.

According to the statement released by his legal team, there was no petition against him prior to his arrest

Part of the statement reads;

“It is worthy to state that there was no form of petition against our client and as such, implied that no crime in whatever form was perpetrated against any person(s), company, or establishment by our client,”

According to the EFCC, the comedian posed as a vendor who redeems bitcoin vouchers using a platform to defraud his unsuspecting victims.

Among the items seized from the comedian include a Mercedes Benz car worth N36M.
