Simon Cowell proposes to girlfriend after 13 years of dating

Simon Cowell, a British media personality, proposed to his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, after 13 years of dating.

Cowell, known for his harsh criticisms as a judge on American Idol and The X Factor, proposed to the couple during a recent vacation in Barbados, according to The Sun on Tuesday night.

The 62-year-old, who had previously stated that he did not believe in marriage, proposed to Lauren in front of their seven-year-old son Eric and step-son Adam from Lauren’s first marriage.

According to a source, the engagement happened on Christmas Eve.

“Lauren was absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question. She burst into tears – happy tears – and obviously said ‘yes’ straight away.
