Nigerian singer and DMW boss, Davido is currently being praised on social media after he refused to perform at the Lagos State “Celebration of Independence” concert.

Recall that The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture announced a special live and virtual festival to commemorate Nigeria’s independence.

According to their press release, the festival will be headlined by music superstars Davido, Tiwa Savage, Teni and other heavyweights.

Surprisingly, the DMW boss didn’t show up for the event and instead of his fans being angry, they are happy he disappointed Lagos State.

Some of his fans applauded Davido for refusing to perform stating that it is a time to remember those who were killed during the #EndSars protest last year and not for “partying”.

“government no worth Davido time!!! there papa” – a fan wrote.
