Popular American media executive and radio personality, Ebro Darden, popularly known as Old Man Ebro, has explained why Wizkid and Tems’ Smashing tune, “Essence”, is the best summer song in the entire globe this year.

In a video shared by Wizkid’s fan page, @Wizkidnews, the media personality said that Essence is the biggest summer song because it represents the whole of Africa and has also broken so many records.

He also added that the original version of Essence became so popular to the extent of people not caring about the remix when Justin Bieber jumped on it. And that because of how good the song is, they still want to stick to the original.

After its release back in 2019, “Essence” has went on to become one of the most talked about track in Africa and the world at large. It has gained millstones of streams on various music streaming platforms and is the first African song to top US charts on platforms like US Shazam Chart, Apple Music US, US Urban Radio Chart and more.
