Wizkid’s management has responded to reports that he will perform at a campaign concert for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi. Wizkid is a renowned musician from Nigeria.

A week before the presidential election scheduled for February 25, 2023, an alleged claim circulated that the “Ojuelegba” hitmaker is scheduled to perform at Peter Obi’s presidential campaign in Eagle Square, Abuja.

A flier with the strong words “2023 OBIDATTI SHOWDOWN MUSIC CONCERT” online features a picture of the singer beside Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, responded to the claimed performance by separating himself and the artist from it and calling it a scam in a post uploaded on his Instagram page.

He added that he is investigating legal options for taking action against the authors of the false story.

Sunday Aare posted a picture of the flier with the words “false news” scrawled all over it:

“This is to inform the general public that this event led by @avotujohnson1st is a scam!!! Wizkid and his management know nothing about this event and accordingly, he will not perform at the said event as claimed, so please beware of this poster and information put out from its organizers as Wizkid and his management will not be liable for any damages. Appropriate legal action is currently being explored against the persons responsible for creating and disseminating this false information. @wizkidayo @wizkidnews”
