Fast-rising Nigerian singer,  Michael Adebayo, better know as Ruger, has acknowledges the impact of Nigerian superstar, Wizkid on upcoming artistes.

The “Bounce” crooner revealed this during an exclusive interview with Afrobeats Podcast’s Adesope Olajide which was shared via YouTube on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021.

Ruger told Adesope Olajide that when Wizkid came on the scene, it gave many young artists hope and courage to climb the mountain.

He also said that Wizkid came on the scene with a youthful energy that set the tone for years to come.

In his words;

The major inspiration he (Wizkid) gave me is that you’re not too young to make it. You’re not too young to just step into the limelight. He changed the narrative of “you’re a small boy, you can’t do it”.

Ruger is not the only superstar to acknowledge Wizkid’s contribution to Afro-beats as singers like Bella Shmurda and Blaqbonez also did.
