Wizkid’s “Essence” remix with Justin Bieber hits No. 1 on the Billboard R & B/Hip Hop chart

Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun, a multi-award-winning Nigerian artist, isn’t slowing down when it comes to dominating charts and breaking new musical ground.

This week, Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Airplay list saw the smash remix to his popular song, Essence, which features Justin Bieber and soprano Tems, reach number one.

The official Billboard charts handle announced this in a Twitter post.

The tweet reads;

@wizkidayo’s “Essence,” featuring @justinbieber & @temsbaby, hits No. 1 on this week’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

This comes just days after the original with Tems became the most Shazamed song in the US.

Essence, meanwhile, made history by becoming the first single to reach Number 82 on the Billboard Hot 100.
