2023 Election: “INEC is a joke! Any competent court can cancel this election” – Ugezu Jideofor
Ugezu Jideofor Ugezu, a.k.a. Ugezu, recently took to Instagram to express his displeasure with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for continuing to use old and inefficient methods of collating election results in the ongoing election.
According to the film’s producer, there were leaked reports as far back as November 2022 about Mr. Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, and his bullion van merchandise plotting to rig the election by not uploading polling unit level results in real-time.
Mr. Yakubu denied the allegation at the time, according to the actor, but the ongoing election process has proven otherwise.
The actor expressed his disappointment that INEC refused to upload real-time results and instead resorted to the old analogue method of collating election results.
He believes that this has increased the possibility of rigging, and that any competent court has the authority to cancel the entire election process. When referring to INEC as a joke, he did not mince words.
