Ghanaian US-based Promoter and event organizer, Terry Frempong-Masson, was arrested in February 2018 for $250,000 credit card fraud and mycentraljersey.com reported that;

Terry Frempong-Masson was charged with “one count of theft by deception, two counts of identity theft, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of money laundering, one count of conspiracy to commit theft by deception, and one count of criminal attempt to commit theft by deception, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey and Perth Amboy Police Chief Roman McKeon.”

An investigation by Perth Amboy Sgt. Mabner Terron and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Christopher Pennis, between Jan. 19 and Feb. 2, revealed that “Frempong-Masson placed online orders for the rental or purchase of film equipment from three film companies using fraudulent identities”.

“Using a fraudulent identity, Frempong-Masson placed an order for $30,000 worth of film equipment with a film company based in Chesterfield, Indiana, and had the order shipped to his home in Perth Amboy’s Harbortown housing complex.”

“He also placed a $114,000 rental order with an Arizona-based film equipment company for delivery to his Perth Amboy home. In addition, Frempong-Masson traveled to Atlanta to receive more than $130,000 worth of rental equipment from another film company that was acquired allegedly using a fake identity.”

The above story broke and was captured on major Ghanaian and US news portals in 2018—but for his 3 years sentence which started on January 13, 2020, it was never captured by the media—not the US or Ghanaian media, perhaps, everyone was busy talking about the world’s current biggest nightmare, COVID-19 pandemic.

Terry Frempong-Masson’s last Facebook post was on January 12, 2020,—and after that, he was nowhere to be found on Facebook—as his friends kept asking about his whereabouts in screenshots of the below tagged posts.

According to records on the website of State of New Jersey Department of Corrections, Terry Frempong-Masson is currently on parole, (the temporary or permanent release of a prisoner before the expiry of a sentence, on the promise of good behaviour).

He was out of custody—and on parole on October 5, 2020, and will finish his sentence on February 25, 2022.
