Soft drinks giant, Coca-Cola has witnessed a huge loss in revenue after football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo removed two Coca-Cola bottles during a press conference at the Euro 2020.
A viral video of the 36-year-old goal machine removing the Coca-Cola bottles in front of him and replacing them by holding up a bottle of water before shouting in Portuguese: “Agua!”, which he was indirectly urging people to drink instead.
The removal of the Coca-Cola bottles by the Portuguese star, who is an ardent fitness figure sticking to a streamlined healthy diet, has recorded a $4 billion in stock value for the company
Coca-Cola’s share price declined from $56.10 to $55.22 just after the incident, which is a 1.6% dip, and market value dropped from $242bn to $238bn – a massive $4bn loss.
