In a new video making the rounds on the internet, a man claiming to be from China invents a fufu pounding machine.
Fufu is a popular West African staple, particularly in Ghana and Nigeria. It is also popular in Western and Central African countries, as well as the Caribbean due to African migration.
It’s made from starchy foods like cassava, yams, or plantains that have been boiled, pounded, and rounded into balls; the pounding process, which usually involves a mortar and pestle, can be time-consuming.
Fufu is frequently dipped in sauces or served with meat, fish, or vegetable stews.
The preparation is often time-consuming because it requires a person to use a pestle to crush the cassava and plantain mixture in a mortar.
Fortunately, it appears that this Chinese man’s new invention has simplified the process.
