Deborah Samuel, a female student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, was lynched to death on Wednesday by her colleagues for unproven blasphemy against Prophet Muhammed.

According to reports, she was stoned before being set on fire by an enraged mob of college students after she made disparaging remarks about the Prophet of Islam on the WhatsApp platform.

The deceased was captured being attacked violently until she fainted and was burned to death in a video spotted by Ghgossip and making the rounds on the bird app.

Jamila, a student who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES, stated that a broadcast message sent to a Whatsapp Group triggered her reaction.

“It was that kind of message that will ask you to share with other groups if you don’t want evil to befall you,” said Jamila.

The late student said in a deleted voice note,

“Send us important information. This group was not created for you to send useless information. It was created for you to send past questions if there is a test or an assignment. It is not for you to send useless information. Which prophet?

However, the voice note was saved and shared among classmates, causing a commotion.

According to close sources, Deborah could not be saved by the school’s security. She was stoned and burned alive. The college administration has declared the school closed and ordered that everyone leave the campus.
