A group of hunters in Borno State in Nigeria has reportedly gunned down a lion while they were on their usual hunting routines in the forest.

In a video currently making rounds on social media, the lion that was gunned down by these hunters was seen lying lifelessly with a bullet hole on its neck.

The hunters who embarked on this dangerous adventure were being applauded by the community leaders and its members for their bravery.

Reacting to the video, social media users condemned the actions of the hunters due to the declining number of lions in Africa.

According to reports, the population of African lions has decreased by 43 percent our the last two decades, and it’s estimated that as few as 23,000 remain today.
